Particles in a solid are close together and stuck well to each other. Walking through a solid is impossible. Solids when heated can turn into liquids.

Leather a solid. It is made from the skins of animals - usually cattle. The cattle skin must be treated with chemicals to turn it into leather.  This is called tanning and it changes the skin so that it does not rot so quickly.

Leather has useful properties. It is durable and flexible.

Many objects are made from leather. These include shoes, handbags, sports balls, chairs and wallets.
