School or science improvement / development plan

School improvement or development plans should highlight key areas of focus in teaching and learning, these might be science specific or for example, a literacy focus applied to science such as using technical language and spelling.

Here are some examples from teachers:

"In the school development plan the focus was improving children's vocabulary and this included scientific vocabulary, so as part of the science purchases I ordered a range of fun games, such as Science Bingo, to encourage children to learn new words."

"Our focus was taking as much of our science learning outdoors, that included topics such as materials, forces, sound, light, as well as being creative in science and problem solving. The big purchase for us was the creative water cascade set, which can be used for problem solving activities, from early years all the way through to top primary."
