MAKING LEARNING CONNECTIONS THROUGH A CONVERSATIONAL APPROACH

Often topics discussed in the classroom can lead to further discussion in the conservation garden.

In this clip a child has made a connection between the pond tadpoles and those in the classroom. When prompted he could recall differences and similarities between the two. Reviewing and analysing conversations in the journal sometimes reveals learning connections.

Conservation of species observed in the garden is modelled through returning animals to their collection site and follows relevant legislation (CLEAPSS, 2009).
